Jaydn read, analyzed, and discussed the next chapter of the Great Alone. We discussed the rising action of the novel and she traced the events that are leading to the rising action. We also discussed how an emotion can be a "character" of a novel and be the force driving the protagonist. She discussed the emotions of fear and isolation and how they are driving the characters. She predicted how the outcomes might resonate.

She then reviewed the chapter citing the diction used by the author to create the theme. She then wrote a small paragraph, creating a short story imititating the author's style.
