Kaitlin began reading chapter one of the reading. We discussed key points along the way to assess comprehension. She responded positively and demonstrated knowledge of the text thus far.
We attempted to work on an assignment tasking Ben to identify the qualities a leader possesses and apply it to a zombie apocalypse scenario; however Ben did not wish to engage in the lesson and was resistant to efforts to enlist his participation. He informed me he is taking off this Thursday and Friday, 4/18 and 4/19 to go to NJ for his grandmother's funeral.

I subbed for Christy with Ben this morning Monday 4-15-24, from 9 - 9:45. Ben did not want to engage in discussion at all. In fact when I my condolences, he said "Okay, you can help by shutting up." I explained that I would but that wasn't a very kind response. He subsequently apologized but said he's going crazy with all the planning for the funeral.
