Joshua was given the assignment to read pages 40 - 50 in "Heart of Darkness," by Joseph Conrad. He finished all but 2 or 3 pages as each page contains a lot of information per page and "is thick." Joshua is to answer study guide questions 1 - 3 in Part II. Upon researching the author, we learned an interesting piece of information - that the book was the inspiration for the 1979 movie, "Apocalypse Now," a film by Martin Scorsese, and that English was not Joseph Conrad's first language, yet he is considered one of the greatest English language novelists. Joshua is to finish the assignment at a later time as our session concluded before he finished the assigned pages.

I subbed for Andy today, Friday, 5-12-23, from 9 - 9:45. He was to finish the test but misplaced it and spent a good bit of time looking for it before beginning other work Andy had assignemd. He will look for it at home.

Andrew completed his The Old Man and the Sea essay outline. He completed his 3rd body paragraph topic sentence and details, and his restated thesis statement in his conclusion. He began typing his essay.
