Essay Writing
Lesson Outline
Eecho and I worked on and off throughout the day via googledocs on his essay. It works b/c he has time to work on it himself without me giving him the words. This way, he learns the skill and applies it. We are able to work on the same document and edit on it together so I can make comments in real time while he is working on it. He completed the essay and it looked pretty good for doing it last minute in little time!

Essay Writing
Lesson Outline
I met Eecho tonight and we got to know each other and what his strengths and weaknesses in English were. We worked on an essay that Eecho had due for his English class that was due about a month ago. The essay was for an analysis of a Post-Colonial Era poem. We didn't have much to go on, so we chose a poem together, read and annotated it and discussed possible ideas for each paragraph. We took notes and Eecho began to plan his essay. Homework was to write a rough draft and we would conference over the weekend via googledocs and/or Skype to complete the essay. There is another essay that is overdue that we need to work on.

Lesson Topic
Naming acids, Lewis Dot Diagrams, solutions, gas laws
Lesson Outline
I helped Eecho to correctly name acids, including hydro-acids and oxy-acids. I also showed him the procedure for drawing a Lewis Dot Diagram for covalent compounds, I then reviewed with him the various definitions of solutions. I also showed Eecho how to apply the various gas laws. There was no assignment.

Review for final
Lesson Outline
The goal of this activity was to graph quadratic functions. We started of with the graphing calculator to understand the various transformations. We then completed the lesson without the calculator.

Solubility of solids, balancing equations, and molar relationships
Lesson Outline
I helped Eecho complete his lab on solubility. After finishing the lab report, I helped him practice balancing formulas and equations. We then did some problems converting moles to grams and grams to moles. There was no assignment.

Gas Laws
Lesson Outline
I guided Eecho through some questions on his lab report on an experiment. The experiment was about Boyle's Law which relates volume and pressure of a gas. After we finished the lab report, I reviewed the various gas laws with Eecho, including Boyle's Law, Charles' Law, the combined gas law, and the ideal gas law. I explained that I wanted him to feel that the laws made sense to him.

Circles tangents and secant lines
Lesson Outline
We used Eecho's review lesson to prepare for hos exam on the angle relationships between circles tangent lines and secant lines. The lesson also involved angles inside and outside of the circle. The last concept we talked about was the relationship with circle inscribed inside of a quadalateral.

Gas stoichiometry problems
Lesson Outline
I worked with Eecho on the rest of the problems from the previous session on gas stoichiometry. We finished all of the problems including the ones requiring the ideal gas law. In the remaining time, I explained to Eecho how to convert between liters and moles and moles and grams. There was no assignment.

Gas stoichiometry
Lesson Outline
Eecho brought a paper with some problems on both sides. The problems involved gases as reactants or products in various reactions. They required the use of stoichiometry to calculate the amounts of gases in either volume, moles, or mass. Eecho and I worked on most of the problems, but had to leave some undone. There was no assignment.
