Nico read about The Great Wall of China and wrote a letter to a friend describing interesting facts about The Great Wall and why he should visit it. We focused on capitals, grammar, writing on the lines and proofreading.

He wrote a diary entry for 100 years from now, in the year 2125. He read Chapter 1 of the book "Brick by Brick" and wrote a summary of the chapter.
Nico read about baby blue whale calves. He used these facts to write a story about baby blue whale calves. He proofread and read aloud his story, editing for mistakes. He learned how to write an informal letter using the date, address, salutation and closing.
Nico used a graphic organizer to write the causes and effects discussed in a text he read. We discussed cause and effect. He read a passage about dodo birds. He wrote four rhymes about animals, inspired by the rhyme he read about dodo birds.
