PJ was very excited that I brought an issue of The Times to read. He read and summarized articles for me, including one about reintroducing wolves to the wild.

David worked on revising old pieces of writing, using what he has learned to improve them.

Today we read a short story with a focus being understanding how an author builds conflict and suspense.

I used a model text to show David examples of descriptive writing that makes use of metaphors and similes. He then used the model text as an example for his own writing.

Today David worked on improving dialogue within his story. I demonstrated ways to add actions to the characters as they speak to make the characters/scene more believable.
