Sebastian used the glossary to look up vocabulary words associated with colonial life, economy and government. Sebastian learned about the colonial government and compared and contrasted the New England and Middle colonies' with the Southern colonies' governments. He did very well on a cut and paste activity in which he needed to determine if given statements applied only to colonial governments or if the statements applied to colonial and present day government.
Sebastian continued an exercise from the 5th grade math Envision textbook, Adding Fractions With Unlike Denominators. He also practiced several multiplication facts.
- On this fun Friday, Sebastian collaborated with another student to develop and act out various scenarios which were filmed. The two then reversed roles to add their unique blend of character to the alternate role. I played the role of the protagonist, the main character in the story plots. We viewed and critiqued the end product and discussed ways to continue the storyline and add additional suspense. It was a fun learning experience that is to be continued.....
In today's session, Sebastian and I reviewed the movement pattern of objects in space. This meant we reviewed gravity, revolution, and rotation. Sebastian asked questions about some fish structures which I answered once we completed the review.
Sebastian and I began working on his infographic avatar image. I had Sebastian open Photoshop, open his avatar file, and begin creating folders for color. He placed the based color for his fish avatar and began painting the rest of the image. Sebastian finished his work and saved his file as a PNG with a transparent background.
