This activity developed his understanding of slope. We talked about what slope really means and how it is used in physics and business. We talked about the slope intercept form of a line. Ryan then completed the exercise on graphing equations of lines.
We started the lesson talking about the Cartesian coordinate system. We worked with plotting points and naming and identifying the different quadrants. Ryan then leaned how to make a T-chart and then plot the points and draw the function. Ryan also graphed the equation to verify his work.
This activity was challenging for Ryan. The lesson had Ryan solving multiple step equations using fractions, distributive property and like terms. He also used the graphing calculator to verify his answers.
The lesson started with a review of adding, subtracting, and multiplying signed numbers. The next activity centered around solving two-step equations with fractions.
Signed numbers, solving two step one unknown, using graphing calculator
Lesson Outline
We worked on two exercises adding and subtracting signed numbers and solving two-step, one unknown equations. We then solved the same equations on the graphing calculator.
We had three exercises on basic skills, adding sub positive and negative numbers, and dividing positive and negative numbers. We studied distributive exercises. We worked on solving equations with one unknown.
