Jackson returns to class and we address his VOLS Reporting PKG. While it is very advanced for a high school student he asked me how to improve it and I asked him why some of the images we discussed were missing. So he will tweak with better images and submit into Batt School Microsoft teams.(per Nicole)
The balance of class we discussed TV Scripting his TV Sportscast and video priority lists etc.

Nice to have Jackson in class and in person today. His work is solid (once we get it) and advanced but I did not let him know that yet and he needs to be pushed harder to complete assignments.
Jackson is late …& eventually a Complete No-Show before Good Friday thus again, missing assignment to Show all late assignments due & Jackson promised to bring today!!!

Hi Jordy,
I didn’t see you on the way out the door and didn’t want to bother you post fire drill as you filled out paperwork. Jackson was a complete no show again today which means he did not deliver on past due assignments, nor do I have them. Between you, your Mom and me (but I don’t want to let Jackson know yet) but his comprehension is off the charts in his ability to absorb concepts in broadcast journalism as well as the ‘how to’ mechanics. My grade for him is at worst an A-minus but more likely an A. I have to see the work he says he has completed but not yet show me / turned in—or into the system. By the way, I believe he’s actually completed the work because I ran a verbal quiz on him about details which he could not have known unless he did the work.
Presuming a University student majoring in Journalism doesn’t begin their major until their Junior year, I would put Jackson's comprehension and skills right now with such a Junior half way through their first semester in J-school. Yes, he is that advanced—on many levels—beyond his years….just careless with assignments. No small thing.

Awaiting long overdue assignments (VOLS iMovie, TV Sportscast Script & videos...but Jackson failed to bring his computer with all his assignments and documents not yet in Batt School system.
Once again Jackson says his brother did something with it. Jackson has car but not laptop. He contends all assignments are complete. So I quizzed him & we discussed top stories of the day. How to handle breaking News. Lots of big stories today in News & Sports Worlds. Jackson arrived 15:00 late.

Jackson arrived late and without laptop, backpack etc. Not prepared. So, therefore the long awaited iMovie VOLS reporter pkg. can not be reviewed or evaluated. Jackson says its all together but his brother took his car, so he has nothing but promised he'd complete the iMovie edit/story.
So...I audible again, and turn current event (UFC Fight @ Miami) on Saturday night into an add-on to his local TV Sportscast. Challenged Jackson to write, describe vibrant event.
