Billy's attitude has improved a great deal and he's been much easier to work with this week. It turns out that he switched out of his biology class and now has a new teacher. Consequently, he won't have as much biology work going forward. We worked on his World History assignment, which is basically just taking notes from the reading.

I'm happy to say that Billy's attitude has greatly improved the last couple weeks. He's not as antagonistic as he was and we've actually been able to get a lot of work done. He still needs to work on actually studying what we work on, but we'll cross that bridge when his next test comes up.

Billy had trouble focusing today and wanted to spend more time complaining about his Biology teacher than actually working on Biology. We went through the study guide and had the same old argument about taking short cuts. This time he claimed it didn't matter because he's switching out of his biology class because of differences with his teacher. On the bright side, he didn't insist on listening to his music while we worked.

Billy finally got his grades and while he did ok in some of his classes, he could have done much better. Especially in Biology, in which he proudly admits he didn't study at all for the exam. When I tried to talk to him about making good decisions and not taking short cuts from the start, he got angry and said he didn't want to hear about it. We worked on his Biology study guide, but I honestly can only help him work through the material and find the answers in the text. I think he may benefit more by having a biology tutor, than me.

As it turns out, Cameron did not have any work with him that we could do together. I tried to help him with Physics, but that's just not in my skill set. So we spent the majority of the class reviewing infinitives, participles and gerunds. He clearly improved as we went along.

Billy was definitely not happy about being here and started the day by announcing he was never coming back. But as we worked he seemed to calm down a bit and we were able to get through the biology and a good portion of the world history.

Billy had done no work since our last meeting and didn't have much of an idea about what his English exam tomorrow will cover. We talked about planning his time this week to study and worked. on the study guide for his biology exam on friday.
