Trapezoids
Lesson Outline
Today Andrew and I started by reviewing how to find the interior and exterior angles of polygon. We used the markers and his desk to draw a regular pentagon. Andrew used the formula 180(n-2) to find the sum of the interior angles. Then he was able to determine the exterior angle. Next we discussed Trapezoids. We worked with the lengths of the sides congruent and same side angles are congruent. I had Andrew draw a 6 sided hexagon with elongated sides. We drew right angles in the sides. Andrew was able to use the formulas to find the missing angle measures.

Chapter 1 Test
Lesson Outline
Today Andrew took his Chapter 1 Test in his Savvas account. These problems were exactly the same questions we did together in the test review. Unfortunately, he got a 55% on it. He said he felt pressured for time, that he felt like he had to finish it. I explained to him that if he needed more time he could have taken it. We've had conversations before about time and how I'd rather test him on undertanding, not the ability to do math in some time frame. So next time, I will reassure Andrew to take his time. Next class we will go through the problems he did incorrectly, then I will have him show me how to do a similar problem. If we need to go back and visit concepts again, we can.

Solving equations and inequalities
Lesson Outline
I reviewed with Sam how to solve equations and set up equations to solve word problems. We covered graphing of inequalities including compound inequalities. I then reviewed solving inequalities. I reminded him that multiplication or division by a negative number will reverse the direction of the inequality. There was no assignmnent.

Lesson Topic
Solving Linear Equations
Lesson Outline
The plan was to review the topic of solving linear equations. I was going to check his ability to solve equations involving variables on one and two sides and equations requiring distribution of variables or constants. I was also going to introduce word problems. There was no assignment. Unfortunately, Sam was not available to receive instruction either virtually or in person.

Introduction to numbers and order of operations
Lesson Outline
We finished the summer math study sheet and then I started an algebra 2 textbook with him. I introduced him to types of real numbers, dimensional analysis, and order of operations. There was no assignment.

Summer math assignment on multiplying polynomials and factoring them
Lesson Outline
I continued to work problems with Sam to review skills in multiplying polynomials and factoring polynomials into simpler factors. I showed him special types of polynomials which have prescribed algorithms for finding their factors. Forms of polynomials we factored included differences of squares and factoring by grouping. We worked from a summer assignment that included the main types of multiplying and factoring. There was no assignment.

I worked with Sam to review skills in multiplying polynomials and factoring polynomials into simpler factors. I showed him special types of polynomials which have prescribed templates for their factors. We worked from a summer assignment that included the main types of multiplying and factoring. There was no assignment.

FINAL EXAM REVIEW
Lesson Outline
Baylie and I worked on a test prep review for Geometry. It consisted of 25 questions over concepts for the year. We spent a LOT of time going over all of the problems. She made an 84% on it.

The plan was to start Sam on Algebra 1 material by giving him a test on entering knowledge for students of that course. That way, I would be able to assess his strengths and weaknesses for future teachers' benefits. Unfortunately, Sam was unavailable for class either in person or virtually. There was no assignment.
