Start Chapter Review Problems
Lesson Outline
I started to review the main ideas of the chapter on solid figures with Matthew. We solved some problems using Euler's Theorem relating faces, vertices, and edges of polyhedra. We then applied Cavalieri's Theorem to find the volumes of prisms. We also reviewed the formulas for the volumes of cones and cylinders and calculated some volumes in those figures. There was no assignment.

PBSC, Stock 10 Quarterly Reports
Lesson Outline
Matthew continues to check his college grade to ensure no changes. Today, he attempted to complete the course evaluation. However, the time window had closed.

He then looked at the current state of his paper trading account.

We looked at the 10 quarterly report of Goosehead. In this session, we focused on the balance sheet of the 10-Q. We discussed how more stocks had been issued over the last calender year. We discussed what that means and why it may be. We created a basic balance sheet for a hypothetical car sales company.

Chapter topic review
Lesson Outline
The plan was to do selected problems with Joshua to review the various formulas and methods in dealing with solid figures. We were going to solve problems with composite figures and recasting problems. Unfortunately, Joshua was not available for instruction either in person or virtually. There was no assignment.

Volumes of Spheres
Lesson Outline
Sam and I worked together using the formula for the volume of a sphere to calculate the volumes of different spheres. We also found the maximum volume of spheres inserted into a rectangular solid space and found the spacial difference between a sphere and the cylinder in which it was inscribed. We then started to review the chapter including the use of Euler's formula. There was no assignment.

Volumes of Spheres
Lesson Outline
I worked with Joshua on problems involving the surface area and volume of spheres. We used the formula to understand the volume of hemispheres and worked on problems with composite figures were made using hemispheres and cylinders. I also instructed him in finding limiting volumes for spheres inside other figures. There was no assignment.

Practice Problems involving volumes of pyramids and cones
Lesson Outline
I worked on the remaining practice problems with Matthew dealing with the volumes of cones and pyramids. We also explored volumes and surface areas of spheres. There was no assignment.

Practice Problems involving volumes of pyramids and cones
Lesson Outline
During the morning session, I worked on practice problems to calculate the volumes of pyramids and cones with Sam. The work entailed manipulating the formulas for both figures to find the required information. We also solved problems involving combined formulas in order to construct the volumes of composite figures. Unfortunately, in the afternoon session, Sam was not available for instruction either virtually or in person. There was no assignment.

Practice Problems about Volumes of Cones and Pyramids
Lesson Outline
I worked on several practice problems with Matthew dealing with the volumes of cones and pyramids. We also explored volumes of composite figures consisting of several basic three dimensional figures combined together. In addition, I showed him a recasting problem where the material making up one figure was melted down and recast into a different geometric figure. There was no assignment.

Practice problems on the volumes of pyramids and cones
Lesson Outline
The plan was to work on practice problems on volumes of pyramids and cones with Sam. The work would entail manipulating the formulas for both figures to find the required information. We would have also combined formulas in order to construct the volumes of composite figures. Unfortunately, Sam was not available for instruction either virtually or in person. There was no assignment.

Volume and Surface Areas of Spheres
Lesson Outline
Joshua and I completed the practice problems on pyramids and cones. I then introduced the formulas for both the volume and the surface area of spheres. We studied an example of how much a sphere with a given volume would have. I also briefly covered composite solid figures made from two or more solid figures including spheres and cylinders. There was no assignment.
