The plan was to introduce the topic of addition and subtraction of rational functions. The lesson would start with the rules of addition and subtraction of fractions with the requirement for all terms to have the same denominator. I would then extend that rule and the steps required to obtain same denominators to algebraic rational functions and the need to factor the numerators and denominators of all terms. Since Samantha was not present today and was not going to be available for Skyping until my session with her ended, I will have to present this lesson next time I see her. There was no assignment.

Samantha has once again missed too many hours in algebra II to maintain any continuity of knowledge. Also, I believe she is still falling behind in the total number of hours required to get credit for my course.
Today Sam read aloud (reading log) from the novel "El viaje de su vida" pages 8-11. She completed her reading log info. Then I introduced "expressing possession using "DE". I explained to Sam: In English you express possession by adding 'S to the noun that refers to the person who possesses.. In Spanish, you use the preposition "DE" to refer to the person who possesses. Example: El hermano DE papa (Dad's brother). Then Sam drew a family tree explaining how her relatives are related. Sam wrote sentences expressing possession using "DE" about her family.
Using the lesson plan left by her teacher, I assisted Samantha with her Physics project on Cosmetology. She began with the research needed to write the paper.
