Lesson Comments
Sam is into the lessons, can handle the material, sometimes with a bit of prompting, but still capable.
Today, Sam and I spoke about asking questions and interrogative words. I explained: There are many ways to ask questions. This is how you create a simple question that has a yes or no answer. Example: 1.Statement/ Isabel va a la escuela.2. Technique/ Use rising intonation to imply a question.3. Question/ Isabel va a la escuela? Here are more interrogative words: como, cual, cuando, por que, que, quienes, a donde, cuantos. Then Sam wrote several examples. She completed activities from her textbook. Un dia tipico, la amiga curiosa, que o cual. Also, Sam wrote his own sentences (about her)
Saying what just happened with "Acabar de" - Practice
Lesson Outline
Today, Sam and I talked about examples of how to express when you want to say that something just happened. Example: Ignacio y yo: Ver una pelicula interesante. Sam wrote: Ignacio y yo acabamos de ver una pelicula interesante. Sam wrote 9 examples from the textbook. Sam completed the next activity about Diana. It It explains about her friends. Example: Ignacio y yo /triste. Sam wrote . Ignacion y yo estamos tristes porque acabamos de leer una novela triste. Then Sam completed 7 examples from the textbook. Every time Sam and I talk about grammar I share with her that this is a great opportunity to practice "conjugation". Remember Sam, it is very important in Spanish because verbs change their form to match the subject of the sentence.Since subject pronouns are sometimes optional, the form of the verb sometimes tells who or what you are talking about - so it is especially important to conjugate your verbs correctly.
