Chris was once again eager to initiate "conversation" as he quickly began sharing recent updates regarding the status of the upcoming Marvel productions. His enthusiasm prompted his fast pace as he rapidly shared details about actors, characters, release dates, etc. Supports to allow for pausing, reciprocal expansion, acknowledgement of partner's comment and question were facilitative. It is noted that the majority of reciprocal exchanges this session were dependent upon the use of direct questioning. Verbal acknowledgment of clinician comment was noted via use of affirmations such as "yeah," and " I know" followed by a declaration of "I gotta tell you something Ms. Lynne." Familiar topic transition phrases were encouraged and expanded upon as focus was placed on the importance of speaker-listener reciprocity, awareness of communication partner's perspective, gestures, and body language as a basis for successful conversational exchange.

Review of current goals and performance was successful. Goal parameters for the coming term reflect the need for continued focus in the areas of conversational reciprocity, perspective taking, use of cohesive ties and strategies for more effective topic shifting and expansion. Additional areas of focus include comprehension and use of higher level language concepts, indirect language, expansion of higher level social reasoning and theory of mind.
