Last activity of the school year called for a cooking project, making ice cream in a bag. Chris wasn't sure that he wanted to do it but he decided to step out of his comfort zone and try something new (something we have been working on). It turned into a fun social activity with one of his peers. He was very happy with himself and the effort.
Last activity of the school year called for a cooking project, making ice cream in a bag. Student had to plan, set up, make the recipe and clean up. It was a fun way to practice some of the language and executive functioning skills that we worked on all year.

With the end of the school year, Tristan wanted to revisit some of our favorite games to decide which was the best. While playing the games, we practiced our word list and discussed good sportsmanship. We can be competitive but kind when playing games with peers.

Spencer wanted to talk about cars and look at different race cars. We named and described many different cars using a large selection of descriptive vocabulary and strong /r/ sounds.
With the heat, Tristan hasn't wanted to be outside so we brainstormed some new ways to keep our sessions motivating and fun. He loved some of the new card games so we practiced /s/ words in sentences while playing Uno.
Chris was not feeling well and called his mom to pick him up early. While he waited for her, we used the opportunity to discuss strategies we can use when we're not feeling well, not in the mood for school, annoyed by someone or just not happy. We went outside and he said that change of scenery was the most helpful for him.
Richard has been motivated by books. So with new books, we read, answer questions and retell stories. His multisyllabic words are produced with 70% accuracy and often pace of speech is the main factor. He requested a special cooking activity for our final session before summer.
