Lesson Outline
Kip and I began our session with Kip completing fifteen minutes of IReady. I then discussed poems. Kip read aloud a poem about Penguins and then answered questions focusing on the stanzas in the poem. Kip then completed a grammar activity focusing on irregular verbs in the present and past tense. Kip then read aloud another poem, "Little Puppy", and answered questions and completed a written response relating to the poem. We ended our session with a groundhog reading and two word searches.

totem pole activity, Google Earth
Lesson Outline
Kelcy continued to work on his totem pole activity. He drew the three animals he chose as his spirit animals and then cut and pasted the pictures with the attributes of each animal. With the time remaining, we identified various physical features on Google Earth.

Lesson Outline
Math – We reviewed the nine times tables and quotients. Then we practiced counting multiples of eight. Next we practiced the eight times tables in order and randomly. Then we began to work on finding the quotients with dividends of eight.
Assignment: Homework Practice division by multiples of eight
Science – Kelcy learned that plants need warmth, water, and light to grow. Then he learned that in the winter these are provided by greenhouses.

totem poles
Lesson Outline
Kip researched totem poles, why they were created and how the animals on the poles were chosen. He was very interested in reading the symbolism and attributes of different animals before choosing three animals for his totem pole. He wrote why he identified with the 3 animals he chose. Kip began to draw a picture of one of the animals. He will finish this activity next session.

Lesson Outline
Math – We reviewed for a quiz on Lesson 11 Understand How Multiplication and Division are Connected. Then we completed a fluency and skills practice to solve several division and multiplication problems. Then Kelcy made up multiplication cards for the nine times tables to complete his set. Next Kelcy completed the required 15 minutes of iReady.
Assignment: Homework practice worksheet on 9 times tables and cards in backpack – eight times tables.

Lesson Outline
Kip and I began our session with observing the calendar of assignments for the week. Kip completed fifteen minutes of IReady. For religion, we watched an assigned video for Heart Awareness month. We then discussed irregular verbs in the past-tense. We began an activity writing the past-tense verb and completing the sentence.

We practiced sparring skills and drills today using the focus pads and the kick bag. We completed hand and leg combinations between the drills. We completed abdominal and back exercises and continued stretches. We completed our warm down with meditation.

Kip and I began our session with a homophones and idioms activity, choosing the correct form of homophone and stating what each idiom means. We then completed a reading, "How the Animals Got Their Beautiful Coats" and answered questions (multiple choice and written response) relating to the scenes of the play.
