In this activity, Rory used the method of elimination and substitution to solve systems of linear equations. We will be spending additional time solving by substitution because it is a more versatile method.

Rory completed the movie The Book Thief. He began to prepare his movie critique by breaking down the movie, its theme and plot.

In this activity, Rory continued working on the method of elimination to solve the systems of two linear equations.

Rory was absent.

Rory and I continue to watch the film. We discuss setting, character and plot. he is preparing to write his reaction to the film including a summary of the story.

Rory wrote his film review. We first discussed the plot, the characters and the setting. We also discussed the director's purpose for filming. Rory did a good job with the review.

Rory was instructed to open up the student website and continue working on the Kaws page that he had started in a previous session.

In this session, Rory was continuing the film titled, "The Book Thief". The story is set in Germany, 1941. A German girl named Lisa & her family are hiding a sick Jew (Max) in their basement. Since all the academic books have been burned by Hilter, Lisa finds a way to steal books, and brings them home to read to the dying Max. However, she accidentally shares her family's secret with her best friend- a mistake that could cost her everyone's life. That's where we stopped. Rory & I stopped to discuss throughout the film, and his comprehension was excellent. Rory will continue to take notes with Ms. Julie tomorrow.
