Test Preparation
Lesson Outline
Matthew prepared himself for two different tests today.

First, he participated in the creation of the 50 verb test. He was allowed to choose two verbs that he did not want to appear on the test. He was then allowed to choose 5 of the words that will appear in English (meaning he will have to produce the Spanish).

Second, he prepared for his grammar test. He did so by using the Cerego software to prepare for the vocabulary portion of this test. He then completed two quizzes that align with the test. These were taken open-note style. He was able to complete much of the quizzes with little or no help from the available resources.

He finished the hour by reviewing vocabulary in his supplemental text.

Preterite and Imperfect
Lesson Outline
Bella was walked through some of the new meanings that verbs in Spanish can take on when they are conjugated in the preterite. As an example, we conjugated conocer in the preterite and showed example sentences of how its meaning changed slightly to met - as in the sentence, I met Thomas two days ago.

Bella then worked on several sets of problems dealing with this concept.

We also continued our research of meaningful media to interact with in Spanish.

Bella mentioned that she liked a book that she read dealing with life in Northern Korea.

Based upon this, we discussed a movie called "La Historia Oficial."

We also looked at other possible books for her to read. However, the book that we chose last time seems to still be the first choice.

Lesson Outline
Bella and I used direct object pronouns and indirect object pronouns in situationally appropriate phrases as we passed a soccer ball back and forth.

Upon returning to the classroom. Bella saw written versions of the phrases used outside. She was asked to disect some phrases and sentences. In particular she was asked to piecemeal words that were comprised of verbs and pronouns.

She then worked on her quizzes project completing one quiz.
