GT and I reviewed the pages in "Think and Grow Rich" he had read up to that point, and we discussed the 6 steps to "think and grow rich" the author suggested readers complete daily for success.
We continued our learning of elasticity of demand by watching a video that explained how to calculate elasticity using the midpoint formula.
GT and I talked about the short answer quizzes to Parts One and Two that I posted in goole docs. We then discussed the pages that GT had read for homework. We continued reading the novel stopping to discuss the excellent imagery and literary devices that the author uses throughout. We also continued working in his vocabulary book. We began the section of the lesson consisting of an additional 10 new words. We studied the words and looked up definitions for some of the synonyms and antonyms used in the book. We worked on some of the application activities. GT will finish reading Part 2 of the novel and answer the short quiz response for Part One for homework.
GT and I started learning about "Elasticity of Demand", what it is, why it's important, and what it means for products/services to be either elastic or inelastic. We also talked a little bit more about the economics around current events with the Coronavirus.
GT and I briefly discussed his reading and writing assignments for the novel. He needs more time to complete them. He will work on them for homework. We then worked in his vocabulary book. I introduced the new words. We read an informational text that used some of there new lesson words. We had a good discussion regarding the reading. We then completed some of the activities that followed to help GT to use and to learn the new words correctly.
GT and I watched a video explaining and providing real life examples of change in supply vs change in quantity supplied. We did a practice quiz that related to the videos to assess his understanding. Then, we finished up the class watching an episode of Shark Tank to see more examples of how economics are used and applied in the real world.
Assignment
Finish reading through Chapter 2 in "Think and Grow Rich"
GT and I reviewed the concepts about change in demand vs change in quantity demanded again and did some practice problems to ensure his understanding.
We started learning about similar factors that affect supply and/or shift the supply curve completely, as well.
He's almost made it through the first chapter of "Think and Grow Rich" so we talked about the underlying theme and how it applies to athletics and life: "Persistence in thought combined with aligned action yields results".

GT and I discussed the chapters that he had read for homework. We discussed the content and his annotations. We discussed the imagery used and the theme of the novel so far. We discussed the two essay questions which GT will answer as his assessment for Part One of the novel. We discussed the best textual evidence to use to support his answers. GT will answer his questions and continue reading the novel for homework.
GT and I discussed the pages that he had read for homework. He received the essay quiz on Part one that I sent him through google docs. He had left his book at his Mom's so we worked in his vocabulary book. We completed the cumulative review for three lessons. We completed activities that mirrored the ACT/SAT. We also completed a section on root words to help with deciphering meanings of difficult words. GT will read and complete the essay questions for homework.

GT slept through his alarm again. I spent an hour texting and calling trying to reach him.
GT and I picked up where we left off before Coronavirus threw us off track - learning about Supply and Demand. We spent most of our time reviewing both the Law of Demand and the Law of Supply before moving onto new content. We covered 6 reasons why demand in the market would shift and provided real life examples of each.
