GT and I discussed his introduction and thesis statement along with his first body paragraph. He was missing textual evidence to support his analysis. We read some criticisms of the novel, and we found some powerful textual evidence to use. He also had a few run-on sentences, so I did a mini lesson on correcting those. I also instructed on how to appropriately cite Shakespeare using MLA format. GT will write the rest of his rough draft for homework.

GT began working on his essay. He began his first draft, outlining some key points of the book and its characters. He worked on the draft throughout the hour.

Class began with a brief review and discussion of the primary election in New Hampshire. Next, we focused on the campaign issues as policy items. Health care, environment, and immigration were among the domestic policy issues discussed. We closed with a discussion of impeachment in the context of GT's term paper.

GT and I discussed his thesis statement that he had written for homework. We discussed how to write the introduction. We read some literary criticism about the novel. GT composed the introduction. We also discussed the plan/outline for the three body paragraphs. GT will draft them for homework!

In this session, GT completed an exercise on simplifying radicals and rational expressions using all the factor patterns of difference of squares and sum difference of cubes.

We focused on the impeachment process underway for most of the class. Since today is the day for the U.S. Senate to vote on the articles, our discussion centered on the possible outcome of the vote. We also reviewed the outcome of the Iowa caucuses.
