SADLIER VOCABULARY and "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson
Lesson Outline
GT and I spent most of our instructional time working in his vocabulary book. We completed a lesson and then completed the three unit review. We studied the words. We finished the application and review activities. We also researched some of the more difficult words and their meanings and pronunciations. We then previewed the short story and it's relevance to the novel LORD OF THE FLIES.
In this activity, we started with a lesson that we previously Skyped on simplifying rational functions. We then focused on our trigonometry review of oblique triangles.
We continued our monitoring of the ongoing impeachment trial. Next, we focused on the topic of U.S. domestic policy. Unemployment insurance, Medicaid, and assistance for disabled citizens were reviewed and discussed. GT was interested and involved.
Class began with a brief review and discussion of the impeachment trial. Next, we continued our review of Chapter 13, Domestic Policy. The evolution of the increased role of the federal government in providing direct assistance and involvement in attempting to meet needs of citizens was reviewed. We reviewed and discussed Social Security and Medicare. GT offered insightful comments throughout the lesson.
