Lesson Outline
GT got a 100% on his science test! Excellent work. Since we are learning about food webs, I had GT dissect a large owl pellet. We watched a couple quick videos on owls first, and then spent the remainder of the class in the lab. We identified a rat and two mice in the pellet, and GT was able to identify many of the bones.

GT and I discussed the rubric for his analytical essay. We discussed the topic. We wrote a thesis statement together. We created an outline from which to write. We began to search for the appropriate and best textual evidence to support his topic. GT will find and document the textual evidence that he will use for his paper for homework.

GT and I completed the last activity in lesson three in the vocabulary book. We also previewed the next section which is a review of the first three lessons. We then finished reading the novel. We discussed the ending. We also discussed the essay GT will write as his cumulative project for the novel. I presented GT with several essay topic options. Using his double journal entries, he selected a topic and will begin the writing of his essay.

Lesson Outline
Class began with a discussion of the latest news concerning the ongoing impeachment inquiry. GT offered interesting and informed comments. We then continued our review and discussion of Federalism. We reviewed some of the processes that enabled the increased influence of the federal government. Devolution was also discussed as a push back by some to reduce the influence of the federal government.
