Time was spent assisting Claire with each of her assignments from her Day school. Grammar was explained and taught where needed. Additional textbooks were provided by me to assist in the teaching of idiomatic expressions, and verbs in both the present and past tenses. Claire contributed and answered when asked questions. She filled in and completed the assignment pages where needed. Claire was unfamiliar with some of the material (so I taught it to her) and familiar with other material, but needed to be directed to the answers. All the activity sheets were pages from her Day school.
Assignment

Lesson Comments
This lesson was done at Claire's home in Palm Beach on a Sunday afternoon. Time was spent assisting Claire with each of her assignments from her Day school. Grammar was explained in taught where needed. Additional textbooks were provided by me to assist in the teaching of idiomatic expressions, verbs in both the present and past tenses. Claire contributed and answered when asked questions. She filled and completed the assignment pages where needed. Claire was unfamiliar with some of the material (so I taught to her) and familiar with other material, but needed to be directed to the answers. Claire was not interested in anything I had to teach, explain or say. She was quite and at times I did get her to interact. She told me often: "I don't know that". Once I began explaining something she said: "Oh I already know that". It seemed as though she was half asleep the majority of the time. Her mother asked me to stay extra time. Once we had finished the 3rd assignment (she had 7 to do as outlined by her mom), she stood up, said she was done and left the room. I stayed 12 minutes over the prescribed one hour.
Today Kelly had a quiz on the first part of chapter 5. She got a 100! Also, we started to work on chapter 6 studying past tense using the verb to be. We paid attention to agreements of gender and number according to the pertinent subject pronoun. In addition we worked on pages 47 and 48 in her workbook.
Today we started to prepare for the upcoming chapter test. We did the introduction and the 1st part.
We went over exercises and vocabulary words. Tomorrow she will be taking a vocabulary test on chapter 5.
Today Kelly took a quiz on reflexive verbs and got an A! Also, she took a quiz on vocabulary from page 88 on La Martinique. In addition we worked on writing and answering questions from her workbook and book.
Today we recorded Kelly on her oral presentation about Martinique. At the end she sent it to her teacher in her school. Also, we continued working on the grammar portion of chapter 4: reflexive verbs.
Today we learned about the past tense, and had an overview of three types of past tense: simple past, composed past and imperfect. Also we learned about the form of the French past using to have and to be and the agreements according the corresponding helping verb.
Today we started the grammar- chapter 5, went over the construction of the past tense in French and stated the formula: Subject+ avoir+ past participle. Also, we went over how to convert verbs to their corresponding past participle according to the proper ending.
Today continued working on chapter 4 in preparation for the exam. Also, we worked on the workbook and did many exercises on vocabulary building. Kelly received high compliments from her French teacher back home for her oral presentation on Capri.
