Avery was given her sculpture and some clay to soften. Avery gave me her softened clay and I flattened it so that she could finish covering the arms of her Mickey Mouse. I gave Avery some tinfoil and clay, and created hands, and placed them on the figure's arms.
Avery played “Candy Land” which encourages socialization in playing with others, patience in waiting for one's turn, and practice in recognizing colors, learning rules, and following directions.
I gave Avery her sculpture and had her soften some clay. I flattened her clay, cut it, and had her place it over the arms and chest area of her Mickey Mouse.
I worked with Avery to design the body structure of her Mickey Mouse. Once we had the basic layout she drew the stick figure that would be used to create her armature.
I had completed the painting for the head of her Mickey Mouse in our previous class and now it was time to create the body. I created an armature, so Avery and I used tin foil to create the shoes and legs of the character. Once we had the correct sizing I gave Avery some clay and I had her place it all over the shoes area and up the legs. Avery did a good of following directions and was able to complete the legs with tinfoil and clay.
Letter identification /Letter Sound – I read the book, “My ‘V’ Book” looking for the letter “Vv” and the pictures that start with “Vv”. After we made a Valentine hat just like Miss ”V’s”.
Using my bag of block letters, she picked a block from the bag and stated the letter name.
Avery was very excited for us to work together so that she could try playing the game of war again. Once again, we focused on number recognition and number comparisons. We also completed a Curious George puzzle as well as played a game of memory together.
