We focused in on one particular stem changing verb: preferir. She was shown and then worked on the present verb tree for preferir. She copied down common Spanish phrases that use the verb preferir.
She then had to use the verb preferir to make choices around the school on what she would prefer to do.
Sofia worked on stem changing verbs. We focused today on the verb poder. She was shown 8 example sentences. She was shown examples of sentences with poder and a second verb.
Sofia helped to write sentences and she copied down two Spanish “survival phrases".
During the first segment of the session, Sofia took a quiz on Act I of the play. We then read through most of Act II stopping to discuss the critical role of language in the thought process and in the communication process. We further analyzed the relationship between James and Capt. Keller and Kate and Capt .Keller. We noted how Capt. Keller's bark is much worse than his bite as he constantly claims he wants to fire Annie Sullivan but his actions demonstrate he lacks the courage to confront her. We further examined the ongoing lock and key motif as representing not just Helen's circumstance, but also Annie's .
In today's session Sofia completed the energy and matter assessment finishing up the section. She did well on the assessment showing she retained the information.
Goals:
Finish sketching and going over the grid method.
Finish project for end of school.

Sofia worked hard all class as always, we didn't get to finish her project since she's leaving but I think the grid method was a great way for her to learn about how to sketch and create architectural drawings.
