During today's second session on the Vietnam War, David was able to gain a clear perspective on the complexity of the Vietnam conflict due to French control and the opposing Communistic movement led by Ho Chi Minh. He also learned how and why the U.S. became involved in this war against the justifiable protests of citizens who
rejected the "unnecessary loss of life" and military operations against people who were not a direct enemy or threat to the U.S.

David was enamored with today's session on the Vietnam War and the related U.S. battles to prevent the spread of Communism. He understood why this war was highly unpopular in the U.S. and how N. Vietnam eventually prevailed.
