Religion: Write 2 things "I am grateful for..." in journal. Choose 1 slip of paper from the Lent foldable pockets of Pray, Fast, Give. Say the prayer for what was listed on the Pray paper. Review Penance and Reconciliation paper then send it home in red folder to also practice at home. Review page 86 and activity in Religion book.
ILA: Complete Grammar page 63 by choosing the correct verb tense word or phrase (15 total) from a word bank and writing under the correct heading. Complete the Alliteration pdf by underlining the alliterations found in 6 sentences. The next step was to write 4 alliterative sentences with words using the given sound. 2 of these sentences had challenges which Jonathan completed. We wrote out words that began with each of the sounds and Jonathan chose the words he wanted to use to make his sentences. 15 minutes on iReady and 15 minutes on Get Epic.
We reviewed the homework and viewed a Power Point presentation on how to introduce yourself to others and members of your family. We completed practice exercised on pages 5-7 and 28-29.
We reviewed how to say numbers 1-60 in Spanish. We viewed a PowerPoint presentation on numbers, sounds, and symbols, for example "cinco equals 5". We also completed page 12 in the book.
Math – Jonathan worked on a quiz on Lesson 11. He solved several word problems involving time. He was very proficient at determining where the hands of the clock should be for each scenario that he was given.
Science – Jonathan discovered how life would be on Earth without the atmosphere. He learned that the temperature would be uncomfortable, we couldn’t breathe, and there would be no rain. Then he explored the ozone layer in Earth’s atmosphere. He learned that Earth’s ozone layer forms when lightning interacts with oxygen in the air and it protects the Earth from ultraviolet rays that would kill plants, animals, and cause skin cancer in humans.
We discussed developing a new business idea today. We spent time talking about what makes a good business, including the concept of differentiation. Jonathan expressed an interest in doing something that helps save the animals.

Jonathan was a bit distracted and did not seem to have a great deal of interest in developing a business idea. We are exploring ideas so hopefully he will embrace something soon.
Religion: Write 2 things "I am grateful for..." in journal. Pull a slip of paper from the Pray, Fast, Give pockets of the Lent foldable. Pray what was pulled from the "Pray" pocket. Miss Piccinich had a PDF for parents to practice with their child at home for the Penance and Reconciliation that Jonathan will receive when he goes home. We practiced in our session and the paper was sent home with Jonathan's portion being underlined in red. A copy will also be kept in his class room to practice while at school.
ILA: Grammar page 62 - identify and underline the present tense, past tense and future tense verbs in the given sentences.
Independent practice for the learning topic of repetition and alliteration - Read the story Picnic Guests on pages 236-238. Respond to the questions on pages 239-240. Plan and write a short response to questions #5 & 6. Go on Get Epic for 10 minutes, iReady for 10 minutes and complete teacher assignment on Razkids.
SS: Read the PDF about Directions on a Map. Review the terms cardinal direction, intermediate directions and compass rose. Discuss the practice questions #1-3.
Math – Jonathan worked on a lesson 11 pretest. He was able to determine the time on analog and digital clocks. He is also able to determine the time based on the hour hand and whether the time is a.m. or p.m. based on the information given.
Science – Jonathan learned that different gases make up what we call air. These gases are held close to Earth’s surface by gravity forming a type of blanket around the planet. Then he learned that the air we breathe is mostly made up of a gas called nitrogen. Air is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and small amounts of carbon dioxide, neon, and hydrogen.
Jonathan mentioned he had played the drums with a past instructor. We played the drums and piano and went over chord shapes as well as rhythmic mantras for each instrument.
Jonathan showed me the idea for his next sculpture, Charmander. I printed out his reference image, Jonathan was given tin foil to create the stomach, legs, and tail. Jonathan positioned the parts as I flattened clay. Jonathan placed the clay over 60% of the tinfoil.
We practiced reciting and recognizing numbers 1-60 in Spanish. We watched a Power Point on how to tell time in Spanish. We also learned how to say the vocabulary words related to time in Spanish. We completed Exercises 1-2 in the book.
