Jonathan and I began our session with submitting his religion assignment. We then read aloud a poem, "There Was an Old Donkey Named Joe". Jonathan began answering questions pertaining to the poem focusing on rhyming and meaning of the poem. Ms. Laura will finish this assignment with him, as well as an activity working on NG/NK Words.

I was a substitute. I had Kip & Jonathan together.
We reviewed vocabulary associated with family. We also learned about articles in Spanish, such as "El, La, Los, and Las". We completed pages 30 and 31 and played a game online to reinforce vocabulary in Spanish.
Religion: Write 2 "Things I am grateful for..." in journal. Pull slips from Lent foldable. Pray for an Our Father for Father Damian. Review page 87-88 in Religion book. Reviewed Faith Words flashcards in preparation for test on Friday.
ILA: 15 minutes on Razkids.com. View the 9 minute Fundations video and complete the Trick Word worksheet by tracing the word, copying the word, then folding the paper to write the word from memory. 5 minutes on GetEpic.com. Delaina completed the rest of the ILA lesson prior to my session.
SS: Reviewed the North America packet in preparation for test on Thursday. Searched for the Panama Canal on the computer to see another type of body of water. Viewed the landform of the Florida Keys on the computer and noticed how they are all connected by the Overseas Highway.
Math – Jonathan learned that 100 can be thought of as a bundle of 10 tens. Then he calculated how many bundles of 10 in several three digit numbers. Then he determined how many ones and hundreds in several three digit numbers. Then he modeled three digit numbers with ones, tens, and hundreds blocks. He has a good grasp of numeration into the hundreds.
Science – Jonathan learned to identify the clouds based on their shape and coverage. He learned that clouds form when water vapor in the air condenses to form liquid water or ice crystals. Next he learned that precipitation is water in liquid or solid form that falls from the atmosphere as rain, sleet, freezing rain, snow, or hail.
We reviewed the homework and practiced vocabulary related to families with a PowerPoint presentation. We practiced how to introduce yourself to members of your family. We played an online game reviewing vocabulary and completed pages 7-8 and 29 in the book.
Religion: Write 2 things "I am grateful for..." in journal. Choose 1 slip of paper from the Lent foldable pockets of Pray, Fast, Give. Say the prayer for what was listed on the Pray paper. Review page 87 in Religion book. Practice the "Act of Contrition". Watch half of the YouTubekids.com video provided by teacher on "forgiveness".
ILA: View 2 Fundations videos and complete associated activities. Complete the interactive practice on iReady. Read and complete activity on page 242-243 in Reading book on the learning topic of rhythms and meaning in poems and song. Razkids.com for 15 minutes.
SS: Complete the Unit 2 Study Guide in preparation for the test on Thursday while reviewing all 3 packets from this unit.
Jonathan and I worked with the piano in the beginning of class. We went over the terms, notation, chords, major, and minor.We ended the class listening to classical composers.
Math – Jonathan completed his quiz on Lesson 11.
Science – Jonathan learned that gravity is what holds us to the ground and it is why things fall when we drop them. Then we began to discuss types of clouds and why they form. Next he learned to identify types of clouds based on their shape and altitude. Jonathan learned that meteorologists classify clouds into 3 main types based on shape: cumulus, stratus, and cirrus. He also learned that adding nimbus to the name of a cloud indicates rain.
