Lesson Outline
After we reviewed the rules of conventional grammar governing commas and semicolons , we examined misplaced modifiers and parallel structure. Using the ACT practice book, we then completed exercises applying these rules. Next, we addressed the Reading Comprehension section. I provided strategies followed by our studying a Natural Science passage. After Matthew competed the questions on the passage , we reviewed how to employ the passage to answer text-based questions and the importance of studying the question to determine if the question is seeking a fact or an inference.

Lesson Outline
We began by my placing on the board and then discussing the punctuation. rules for the conventional use of semicolons, colons, commas, and apostrophes. We further studied word usage focusing on "then/than, their/there" . Using the ACT practice book, we then applied the punctuation rules by answering specific ACT questions.. Further, we examined subject-verb agreement and the proper use of who/whom again by competing ACT questions on these areas.
