Today, Danny watched two YouTube videos on making tools. We discussed what he learned. When we were finished, he completed his language arts homework that he didn't do over the weekend.
I substituted today for one of Amira’s teachers that was absent. Amira took advantage of my language ability and asked to learn Arabic. We did quite well together. Using you tube, Amira learned greetings and salutations in Arabic. She then went on to learn to count from 0 to 20. I assisted with grammar and pronunciation as it is quite similar to Hebrew, which I speak. She was very happy and at the end of the session, called her mother and using the vocabulary she had just learned, and “spoke” to her in Arabic.

Today, we combed through the wildflower garden area and pulled unwanted sproutings. We continued removing exotic vegetation from the southern boundary. We mainly pulled mother-in-law tongues.
We planted a golden rod seedling in the wildflower garden today. We then removed more Brazilian pepper and umbrella tree from the southern boundary of the school.
Today we hiked along the south border of the school property identifing and removing invasive exotics. The two predominant species were umbrella tree, and Brazilian pepper.
Today we gathered shells from the ground to circle the first 5 native plants in the garden area. We also removed roots from the Brazilian pepper tree near the border.
