Ben has done well with learning and practicing cursive letters and connecting the letters to form words. He confidently completed activities that involved determining the correct contraction for word pairs. Ben enjoyed completing a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting gummies with Swedish Fish. After completing a Venn Diagram on lacrosse and hockey, Ben wrote a paragraph comparing and contrasting the two sports. The CUPS method of editing was employed.

Ben continues to learn and practice individual letters and words in cursive. He did well proofreading a passage and making capitalization corrections. Ben successfully chose the correct tense of irregular verbs in given sentences. He completed a concept web and determined the sequence of ideas before writing a paragraph on what he would do if he was a race car driver. The CUPS strategy for editing was employed.

Ben continues to work carefully when learning and writing in cursive. He is learning how to connect the letters to form words. Ben enjoyed completing his creation of a new version of 'Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs'. He did well on a review and assessment of subject-verb agreement. The assessment included sentences about some insects Ben did not know. We spent the last few minutes researching the bugs.

Ben continues to learn and practice cursive writing. We are working on connecting letters to form words in cursive. Given sentences, Ben confidently chose the correct irregular verb form to complete the sentences. After listening to, 'Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs', Ben was tasked with rewriting the story. Using a graphic organizer, he wrote, in complete sentences, what would fall from the sky, how the townspeople would react and what the problem was. He was encouraged to use descriptive words. Ben seemed to enjoy the activity which we will complete next session.
