Kellan finished watching the interactive video about the Renaissance. He discussed the events that led up to the birth of the Renaissance. He located on the map the major locations where the Renaissance started. He learned about key people of the Renaissance.
Kellan watched a video on metamorphic, sedimentary, and igneous rocks, and minerals. He drew and wrote illustrated notes of these terms and summarized the key terms in his own words.
Kellan was shown a graphic novel layout sheet that would be used as a checklist for his final project. After reviewing the work that Kellan had completed so far we found that Kellan would need to add 4 pages to the second chapter and three pages to the third chapter. Kellan used the remaining part of the class to come up with additional story ideas to fill the remaining pages.
This morning, Kellan began with the daily review question on solving a long division word problem. Then, he took the final 6s fact check needed to show proficiency and mark it complete on his multiplication facts chart. We spent the remainder of the time reviewing the multiplication facts with a game of multiplication war. Today, Kellan also had to give the correlating fact family division equations to win each round.
Kellan began his new unit of study, The Renaissance, by watching an interactive video. He explored new vocabulary words and located on the map the countries most associated with in the Renaissance.
