Kellan took his spelling test. We read about Martin Luther King, Jr. and looked up information about him and the historical context. In his journal, he wrote what might be happening today if not for people like Martin Luther King.

I was with Kellan during his art class today.

Kellan began with the daily review on writing 3-digit numbers in expanded form and he worked on 2-digit by 2-digit multiplication, using the multiplication chart when needed. Today's lesson focused on applying multiplication and division strategies to solving word problems. Kellan was encouraged to read each problem twice, verbally explain the scenario, circle the given numbers, and look for operational clue words before solving.

Kellan read about tropical rainforest, temperate forest, and ocean ecosystems. We discussed the differences of each.

Today, because of the rain and it being a shorter period because of recess, Kellan and I played some Art games inside.

Kellan reviewed his vocabulary words. He completed two more states and capitals.

Kellan dictated a story for me to type for him.

In his journal, Kellan wrote his spelling words in sentences. We read more of Cat Kid and discussed it.

Kellan began with a 10s fact check and today's daily review questions on recognizing congruent shapes and understanding the vocabulary words associated with each operation. We also reviewed 2-digit by 2-digit multiplication before Kellan completed 4 problems with some help. Finally, Kellan continued to practice long division with single-digit divisors and remainders. For homework, an 11s fact check was assigned.

Kellan read about resources. He created a table of resources: living and nonliving things. He read about interactions in ecosystems on page 81 in the textbook.
