This morning, Kellan worked on a variety of skills. He completed daily review problems on multiplying multi-digit numbers by a single digit and multiplying 2, 2-digit multiples of 10. Then, Kellan answered a division word problem on breaking up dividends into equal groups differently. Next, he practiced the 4s facts with flashcards before he took a timed 4s fact check. Finally, Kellan continued to practice multiplying 2-digit by 2-digit numbers together.

I worked Kellan to come up with ideas that he could use for his Artigras project.

Kellan was given his project and I instructed him to use his reference to create his final design.

We continue to do our fitness testing.
Today Kellan took the "wall sit" test and yes he broke the record with 20:31.
We were going to do another pacer run but Kellan was understandably exhausted.

Kellan took his test over the Islamic Empire and made a 100%. He reviewed what the Bill of Rights is, and learned about the first 2 amendments.

Kellan reviewed mass, volume and weight. I quizzed him on these terms and concepts. He completed the mass and volume questions in his workbook, comparing two different objects' masses and volumes. He practiced using <,>, and =.

We discussed some of the grammar issues to remember when writing. He dictated a story for me to type for him.

Kellan did a word search to practice his spelling words. We looked up Native American poetry and put that on his genre chart. In his journal, he wrote a paragraph about some of the animals Florida natives might have encountered. We read Cat Kid.

Kellan has been using the step-by-step reference and is working more confidently and independently when solving these problems.

Kellan watched a video about mass, weight, and volume. He took notes and drew diagrams. We discussed the differences and compared different objects around his room to see which had the greater mass, volume, and weight. He wrote an explanation for why bigger objects don't always have a greater mass.
