Then, Kellan read, comprehended, and solved a 2-digit by 1-digit with regrouping multiplication word problem and finished with a quick round of 2, 3, and 5 facts flashcards and a timed 5s fact check.
Kellan was introduced to elements. He viewed several different solid elements and gas elements: gold, copper, aluminum, silver, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and argon. He drew and colored some examples of differently shaped molecules. He cut them out and grouped them based on similar characteristics.
Today, Kellan worked on multi-digit mixed operation addition, subtraction, and multiplication problems. He copied problems from the whiteboard, accurately rewriting the problems in the format needed to solve them. Then, Kellan read, comprehended, and solved a 2-digit by 1-digit with regrouping multiplication word problem and he finished with a quick round of randomly given 2, 3, and 5 flashcards.
Kellan completed his crossword puzzle, and reviewed for his chapter test on the Germanic tribes. He worked on a drawing of the state of New Jersey and its Capital.
Kellan completed a brainstorming exercise trying to figure out what happens to sugar when it is stirred in tea. He viewed a video called "Will it Dissolve?" We discussed the word dissolve and what it means. He recorded his observations from the video in his science notebook.
