Kaitlin was well focused and attentive during our session on Ethnic migration patterns within the U.S. We discussed the rapid growth of the Hispanic sector of the U.S. population and the various reasons (safety, education, work opportunities, culture etc) why certain Ethnic groups migrate into particular regions of America.

Migration Patterns within the U.S.: Creation of "Ethnic Islands" and Ethnic Areals due to immigration of international people into the U.S. for economic, cultural, and safety reasons. Nationalism definition: The mission of numerous people to place their country of origin as the "Supreme Country" and advance the interests of the native country in often unethical and illegal ways. Reference to Nationalism with the current Israel/Palestinianian (Hamas) conflict.

During today's lesson on Migration Patterns, Nationalism and Ethnic Islands within the U.S., Kaitlin was highly engaged and demonstrated a deep understanding of migration/immigration from both a historical and current perspective. On the topic of Nationalism, connections were made with the current Israel/Palestinian (Hamas) conflict which Kaitlin was very aware of.
