Today's remote session with Kaitlin was abbreviated due to an audio problem within the MS Teams transmission. This was later rectified due to the assistance of the Batt General Manager and Kaitlin spent the balance of this period working on the Chapter 7 Quiz given to her the previous day.
Kaitlin examined the elements of the cultural landscape shown in an image of the Alhambra Palace, in Granada, Spain and reviewed the options and rationale when queried.
Themed Landscapes, vernacular regions. Key word definitions as related to cultural landscapes. Review of folk culture and geodemographics. Discussion of how many towns, cities, and communities within the U.S. use palimpsests as a means of displaying and honoring important traditions, historic buildings etc. along with modern developments.

During today's session on themed landscapes and vernacular regions, Kaitlin was very well focused and latched onto these important subcategories/effects on cultural landscapes. I am directing her heavily into the key terms within each chapter/unit and thoroughly explaining these in an effort to build essential knowledge and skills required for success on her upcoming AP exam.
Cultural Landscapes: Folk Culture and key terms: Architectural hearths, palimpsest, neolocalism, Public Land Survey System etc. Identifiers and characteristics of folk culture and cultural landscapes: Food, clothing, architecture, holiday traditions, music, religious activities, etc.
