Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion - We practiced identifying which of Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion were involved in several scenarios. We observed that in the first law of motion that it took more force to get an object moving than to keep it moving. Next we observed from Newton’s second law of motion that force is equal to mass times acceleration. The greater the mass of an object the more force it takes to move the object. Then we calculated the force in newtons for several items given the mass and acceleration. We also learned that the third law of motion says that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Assignment: We began work on a poster to summarize the meanings and give examples of Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion.
