Bella was online today. She completed a compare and contrast five-paragraph essay. She created an outline and made sure she had adequate examples to support her thesis statement. She edited the essay upon completion.

Absent for first period.

Bella's lesson today was about preparing horcata - the Mexican drink.

Bella was first told how the class would be conducted and how to handle any filming of the lesson that took place.

She then read a part of the recipe that we had printed out. We specifically read the part that discussed a little history and description of the dish.

She then was told a series of formal commands in Spanish. She was responsible for writing down the command, then repeating it, then executing it.

She did an excellent job following the steps.

Lastly, we shared what she made with some of the staff.

Bella spent this session reviewing for her upcoming tests.

First, she reviewed notecards on her own for her 55 verbs test.

Then, she was asked to do 2-4 problems from various sets of exercises from the text. One set dealt with using the subjunctive in a sentence. The next set dealt with using formal commands to answer people's questions.

We then watched a video that used a great deal of the vocabulary from the chapter.

Lastly, Bella used some review software to get ready for her test.

First we went over how to set up and solve equations for word problems that required 2 equations and 2 unknowns. This helped Bella understand the importance of mastering this concept.
4-3 solving Systems of Equations by Elimination – We learned that elimination is an alternate method for solving systems of equations when it is not easy to use substitution. We multiplied one or both equations by a constant to get like coefficients that are opposite integers to use elimination.
Assignment: For homework complete assigned problems.

Bella read the next chapter of Where the Crawdads Sing. She kept notes on the juxtaposition of the characters Tate and Scupper and their interests. She then discussed the characters and wrote a characterization of them supporting it with text.

We did a lab to determine the formula of a hydrated compound.

Together, due to Bella's request from yesterday after she took her test, we evaluated the Chap. 21/Progressive Reforms test she took yesterday. Bella scored 82% and that's a HUGE improvement over the test she took prior to this! Way to go, Bella! Today is election day in Jupiter. Although we will be voting in person today, brought in my mail in ballot so Bella could see what it looks like. I showed Bella the security measures that are taken by the Palm Beach County of Elections to maintain the security and integrity of local and national elections.

Bella and I went over what she's currently learning in class. Have Bella work independently on any outstanding Spanish work and study for upcoming quizzes.

First we analyzed "Easy on me" to locate and consolidate parts Bella finds challenging, then I continued teaching her how to identify and sing music Intervals.
