Topic 4 Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities
Lesson Outline
4-2 Solving Systems of Equations by Substitution – We practiced using the substitution method to solve systems of equations and we checked our homework. We were able to represent situations of systems of equations and interpret solutions as viable/nonviable options for the situation.
Assignment: For homework complete assigned problems.
Bella was online today. She wrote a compare and contrast essay. I modeled a high-level opening paragraph and concluding paragraph. Bella made an outline prior to writing.
This was a second period remote class during which Bella had a test. The test was scanned/emailed to Bella and she worked on it at home throughout second period. She has requested that I grade it with her tomorrow and that's fine with me.

After several weeks of discussion, this was the big eyelash perm and color class for Bella. She performed each step for the first time as previously planned beginning with 1 eye at a time. Unfortunately, Bellas eyelash hair was more resistant to the chemicals as compared to the manufacturer's recommended timeline and little to no desired results were achieved. We had a follow-up discussion breaking down each component. This resulted in the determination that leaving the perming solution on Bella's eyelash hair longer would be the logical next approach in order to achieve the desired results.

Bella was not feeling well when I arrived. She said she did not sleep well last night and she took 2 Midol but did not eat prior. She ordered lunch and ate it during the beginning of class as I set up for chemical peel services. It was noticeable that she looked and acted like she was feeling much better after she had some food.
Bella performed skin analysis and exfoliating chemical peels on three models. Each model presented with different skin issues. Acne, oily and dry skin were all accurately observed by Bella both visually and palpated. All three models were very satisfied with the results of Bella's services and she seemed very pleased as well.
Bella left class a little early to be picked up by her father allowing her to get some rest and go to a concert that evening

Considering the time between the last haircut on the mannequin head and class today, Bella continues to have good recall regarding the important components of haircutting. Based on my decades as a cosmetology instructor, I believe Bella has an atypical range of ambidextrousness that is the main challenge for her in coordinating handling the hair, comb and shears during a haircut.
We revised some complex rhythms then used some educational YouTube jazz rhythm-reading drills to play along to. Then we improvised at the piano, me on melody, Bella on chordal harmonies.
