Absent for first period American History class today. I emailed Bella a reminder to our school email and Teams email that her new test date is Mon., 3/7.
Topic 4 Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities
Lesson Outline
4-2 Solving Systems of Equations by Substitution – We learned that substitution is one method for solving systems of equations. The process involves solving one equation for a variable and substituting the solution into the system’s other equation.
Assignment: For homework complete assigned problems.
Bella read, analyzed, and discussed the next chapter of Where the Crawdads Sing. She then wrote to analyze the characters of Tate and Kya. She found similar traits and used text inserted in her writing to complete the descriptions. I explained to her the process of close reading used in analytical writing. She then reviewed SAT vocabulary being studied.
We ran through several songs chosen by Bella and displayed as karaoke on my laptop. She mastered the use of the mic, and made the decision to sing "Go Easy On Me" for the Assessment I shall eventually do.
Assignment
To work on the chosen song and gain confidence with the more challenging passages.
We then discussed formal commands in Spanish. We reviewed how to conjugate in the subjunctive. We discussed how the conjugation for the subjunctive and formal commands is the same in Spanish. Bella was shown examples in English of commands. She was given nonexamples in English as well.
Bella then used the words from her homework to translate a section of text that we read last session. She did a great job.
Bella watched an interview with the author of the novel she is reading. It gave her a sense of the setting and an understanding of the author. She then wrote to compare and contrast her idea of the setting before what it actually looks like. She then read and discussed a chapter from the book.
