Bella continued with her compare and contrast essay today online. She took the thesis for the third paragraph and outlined the supporting details for the paragraph and listed examples that she could use to expand the examples cited. She wrote the extended paragraph and reread and edited it for grammar, specific diction, and vivid verbs and adjectives. She also researched for a quote that would aptly open the paragraph that would transition to her thesis.
2-1 Slope-Intercept Form – We learned how to identify a positive or negative slope from the slant of the line. Then we reviewed the formula to find the slope when you have 2 points on the line. We documented steps to graph and write a linear equation. Next we practiced finding an equation of a line that passes through 2 points. We practiced word problems where the point-slope formula helped us find the answer.
Assignment: For homework complete assigned problems.
Bella did not check for the HW I sent to her, so we made sure together that it was there in her school email account. She knows she must complete it over the weekend. We spend the majority of class reviewing content from last class. We have class again during third period, so we have time to cover a lot of material today. As the candidate for Democratic Republicans during the vicious presidential race in 1828, Andrew Jackson and his supporters favored states' rights and mistrusted strong central government. Election slogans, rallies, buttons, and rallies appeared and became a part of American political life. A veteran of many wars, a former general and congressman from TN, he gained fame during the War of 1812. He was also known for defeating many Native Americans in battle. Jackson's popularity with the common man changed Washington, D.C. We discussed the "spoils system" under Jackson. In the early 1800s,large numbers of Native Americans still resided in the eastern U.S. GA, AL, MS, & FL were home to the Cherokee, Creek, Seminole, Chickasaw and Choctaw peoples. These tribes had established farming societies with successful economies.

We learned how the quantum numbers relate to the orbital filling order. We learned about the Aufbau principle, Pauli Exclusion Principle, and Hunds rule. We then practiced writing electron configurations.
Bella began a compare and contrast essay today. She wrote the outline and first paragraph of an essay that compares and contrasts herself with her brother. After completing the outline, she found a quote to start the essay that catches the reader's interest and she transitioned to a very clear and precise thesis statement.
