In honor of Martin Luther King Day this coming Monday, 1/16 class focused on the Civil Rights Movement and some of his most famous speeches, especially his "I Have a Dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial in 1968. This is one of the most rousing, important speeches in American history and government.

In today's class, Bella would have finished up her assignment on punnett squares, where she would have been given several blank punnett squares and scenarios to fill in for them.

Bella was absent from my class today. We will continue what we would have done today on Tuesday when classes resume.
Bella and her dad are utilizing some of the federal and local laws I sent to them via the Humane Society to address how dirty and sick Jules was when they got him on 12/30. Bella shared that they began to advocate with some of the parties involved yesterday. Hopefully, they will continue to exercise legal rights for puppy Jules now that Jules is healthier and they have the energy to advocate on his behalf as well as for themselves, as consumers. Bella is learning a lot about the process of questioning and standing up to corruption, especially knowing that there are laws that support their situation.

This was a remote lesson and the internet kept going out so we couldn't have class through Teams. Thankfully, Bella was comfortable having class over the phone and the majority of our class took place over the school phone during 4th period.
In today's class, Bella reviewed what she learned previously about punnett squares and did some practice problems with them. Bella was given a series of punnett squares with different scenarios to fill out and complete. She did a wonderful job answering the questions on her own.
Bella continued adding citations and elaboration to her Othello essay. We worked on formatting and proofreading. We worked on IXL E. Analyzing Informational Texts 1. Analyze rhetorical strategies in historical texts: set 1.
