The Electoral College has 538 members, called Electors.
To win the Presidential Election, a candidate must gain 270 electoral votes. Each state is apportioned Electoral Votes by the number of Senators and Representatives they have. Each state must have a minimum of three. Forty eight of the 50 states are ''winner take all'' states, which means they award all of their electoral votes to the winner of that state's election.
Today, Bella completed the exercise on Greek and Latin roots in IXL that she was assigned yesterday. She obtained a 90 on the part she completed yesterday and finished question 2, 3, and 4 today, getting all correct.

I subbed for Jacqueline this afternoon, November 15, 2022, from 10:30 - 11:15, in Science. Bella needed to take her dog to the vet and finished her assignment, so her dad came to pick her up 15 minutes early.
The election process in the US is a complicated machine. In many cases, initial elections called primaries are held to determine who the final candidates will be. These primaries could be open, semi-open, closed, blanket or runoff. Each of these types of primaries establishes what the voters see on their ballots. Once the final candidates are decided, a general election is held. In most cases, the candidate who wins the most votes wins the election, but in the case of the president, that is not the end of the election process. In actuality, the electoral college casts the final ballots to decide who will ultimately become president. This electoral college has both advantages and disadvantages and is the source of a lot of debate among US citizens.

Lesson Comments
Remote lesson, but no visual. Bella said she was in bed and tired.
In today's class, we continued our discussion on evolution, including talking about macroevolution, microevolution, homologous structures, speciation, and divergence. Bella took notes that followed along with the material.
Bella worked online and was asked to log onto IXL to complete exercises in Vocabulary on Greek and Latin roots. Bella did well on the exercises in which she had to categorize root words based on similarities, and she achieved 86% correct. Bella will complete the remainder of the exercises assigned in tomorrow's session.

Hair Cell Analysis & Corrective Hair Coloring and Cutting
Lesson Outline
Analyze the limitations of human hair fibers -
Review color theory and select the best approach to correct color problems -
Foil & brush corrective color techniques to best match existing hair color -
Preform corrective cutting techniques to the fringe area -
During the analysis of the damage and limitations of human hair fibers, we discussed the relationship to the limits of all human cells, particularly how the excessive use of chemical drugs, alcohol, and improper foods as well as some physical activities can cause permanent damage to human cells when pushed beyond their limits. This we observed in the over-chemical processing of the human hair cell fibers on her mannequin head.
Bella did very well in color theory recall and critical thinking skills in selecting the best approach to correct the color problems.
Bella successfully used a foil & brush corrective color techniques to match the existing hair color.
Performing the corrective cutting techniques was more challenging for Bella due to her aversion to waste and the necessity to cut off a lot of chemically damaged hair that was impossible to restore.
I believe the lessons she learned in the past few classes will serve Bella well in applying the results to future social scenarios where pumping the breaks or refusing participation in destructive activities will keep her human cells in optimum health =)
