Today we looked at and discussed the 10 Key Senate Seats in next Week's Election. Those states include: 1. Pennsylvania,
2. Nevada, 3. Georgia, 4. Wisconsin, 5. Arizona, 6. North Carolina, 7. New Hampshire, 8. Ohio, 9. Florida, 10. Colorado.
In today's class, we began our introduction into evolution, including discussing a few of the first people to coin the idea of evolution, as well as Darwin's expedition to the Galapagos Islands and what he learned there. Bella took notes that followed along with the material.
During today's class. We started watching a movie in Spanish. Every few minutes, we stopped the video and talk about the movie to make sure that Bella was able to understand what the video was about.
Early voting is similar to "no-excuse" absentee voting. In many U.S. states, the period can vary between four and fifty days prior to Election Day. Early voting in person is allowed with no excuse required in 39 U.S. states and in the District of Columbia (DC). Absentee voting by mail without excuse is allowed in 27 states and DC. In 16 states, an excuse is required, and in 12 states, a signature by at least one third-party witness is required to notarized the ballot. Vote-by-mail is the default form of voting in 7 states and 2 states (Oregon and Washington) conduct all voting by mail.
In today's class, we covered the topic of mutagens, including what they are, what types there are, and how they play a role in biology and everyday life. This ties into what we talked about previously about mutations.
Today, Bella worked more on an IXL grammar exercise on identifying prepositional phrases. She worked on her formal statement making a case for the Duke of Venice's war against the Turks.
Today's lesson was remote as Bella left school early and called me promptly at 11:15 am. Today we discussed Early Voting in FL. This is when a person casts a ballot prior to Election Day at a location designated by the Supervisor of Elections and deposits the correctly completed ballot into the tabulation voting system. Counties are required to report to the State, no later than 30 days before the election, designated early voting sites and secure ballot intake stations including dates and available times. These designated secure ballot intake stations are available to allow voters to conveniently return their completed vote-by-mail ballots. A very busy and active early voting location in Jupiter is the Town Hall and Police Station. We reviewed when early voting begins and how it is done - especially for the upcoming mid-term elections.
