We had a fire drill for the first half of the session. With the remaining time, we collaboratively read about two national symbols, the American flag and the Statue of Liberty. Tristan then played a computer game as we sang and listened to music.

Lesson Comments
I was asked to sub for Debbie from 1:00 - 1:30 today, Thursday, 5-36-22.
Tristan spent much of his class time petting and observing his chick.
We also played a game titled, “ Weird But True” a National Geographic game. We also played ”Exploding Kittens”.
Tristan and I read a NatGeoKids book about manatees. He was curious about where he could see them, so we visited the Manatee Lagoon website. He read one page of ‘The Blue Mittens,’ a level I selection, with 70% accuracy.
Tristan observed the chicks, recognizing that three hatched overnight and now we have a total of four chicks! We then discussed why chicks need help staying warm because they do not have enough feathers to help regulate body temperature. Lastly, we listened to a story, "Chicks" discussing the process of chicks being born.
