This was a "virtual" lesson, and Jaydn had no camera connected. May I request that I am able to see her in future voice lessons? I need to check various things face-to-face. We spent some time on vocal diction exercises involving the hard consonants and the use of the lip and tongue muscles when clearly enunciating words, and Jaydn is excellent. With my guitar I introduced her to several songs, some of which she knew, and suggested we work on material separate from her Indie style, to broaden her horizons and introduce different skills. I also plan for her to compose her own song and lyrics, which we shall develop together.
Jayden read chapter one of the novel The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. She analyzed and discussed Jannette Wall's writing and its effect on the reader. She analyzed and discussed the character development of the protagonist.
The plan was to introduce Jaydn to the undefined terms and postulates in geometry. I was going to explain why there were undefined terms in geometry and the need for postulates. Then I would be explaining the postulates of Euclidean geometry. Unfortunately, Jaydn was not present today and was unable to come to school. Attempts to connect via Microsoft Teams did not work. There was no assignment.

Jaydn was out of school today and attempts to contact her via Microsoft Teams were unsuccessful due to lack of connection on school side.
This lesson I was subbing. We covered a few key literary devices for writers including: Unbreakable bonds and how they can be used to create engaging dialogue. We also discussed themes, the purpose behind various genres, and the ultimate goal of fiction in general.
Today we would have outlined the creative writing piece, as we still have not done that. Once the outline is completed we will do the drafting, followed by copyediting.

Since Jaydn was unable to attend class today, we will go over today's lesson the next time I work with her.
This was an assessment lesson to learn about Jaydn's musical experiences and ability so far. She told me of her past school's input and was positive and enthusiastic about the time in that music dept. I did some pitch tests, aural tests, harmonizing, singing and improvising. We discussed breathing technique, voice projection, and her physical difficulty with yoga methods. I tried showing her a couple of guitar chords which were successful, but not something she finds tempting (I'd thought singing with guitar may be a future wish, but it seems not right now). She told me she'd done some song composing at the piano, and I am keen to pursue this idea.
