The 1990s were an interesting time. The fall of the Berlin Wall and the fall of communism across Eastern Europe signified a world that was markedly different than what the rest of the 20th century experienced. However, those who came of age in the 1990s - Generation X - still carried the baggage of many of the conflicts of that previous world. Nonetheless, Generation Xers proved to be more open-minded than previous generations, and their culture explored social issues that were off limits earlier in the century. The 1990s world also was considerably different than those before it because of the advent of the Internet. The rise of the Internet - indeed, what you are using to access this lesson right now! - revolutionized telecommunications and the way people lived, worked, communicated, and played.
Today she took her final exam, in an oral way, where I asked her questions about all the vocabulary learned, and grammar, and where I was able to evaluate her pronunciation. In addition, she had to read her final essay, which was part of her grade.
I worked on selected problems with Jaydn from extra practice problems. We covered angles and side lengths in triangles. I reminded her that
in a trianlge, the sum of any two sides must be greater than the third. We also related the relative length of any side to its opposite angle. There was no assignment.

Jaydn has continued to grow mathematically throughout the last quarter and could probably succeed in algebra 2 next year.
Jaydn analyzed and discussed chapters 18-22 of the nonfiction memoir Educated by Tara Westover. She discussed in-depth the effect of Shawn on the character development of Tara and the effect it had on Tara's relationship with Charles. Jaydn then free wrote on the topic of bullies.
I worked on selected problems with Jaydn from extra practice problems.
We covered angles generated from parallel lines and angles in triangles and other polygons. There was no assignment.
