United States role in Ukraine
Lesson Outline
We discussed the current state of the military conflict in Ukraine focusing on Russia's regrouping troops in the east. I commented on the change in the Russian military command and noted the new Russian general's reputation for committing atrocities based on his service for Russia in Syria. Jayden discussed why the US is hesitant to send troops to the Ukraine and I mentioned the role of NATO .I noted similarities between Germany in 1939 and Russia's invasion while recognizing the importance of US policy which is to avoid escalation into another world war. On a lighter note, I further mentioned that the president of Ukraine is a former sit com star from a Ukrainian TV show. I noted how life has imitated art as in the show a hapless school teacher is elected president of Ukraine to the surprise of the world.

Volume of cubes and rectangular prisms
Lesson Outline
I showed Jaydn how the volume of a cube could be calculated by raising the length of one edge to the third power. I then showed her how the volume of a rectangular solid could be found by multiplying the three dimensions. We did some problems to reinforce the use of these formulas. There was no assignment.
